How to make cultivation license changes using the CLS

Eligible processor, nursery, and cultivation licensees can now use DCC’s Cultivation Licensing System (CLS) to make a one-time change to their license expiration date. Additionally, eligible cultivation licensees can use the CLS to place their license in limited operations status or request a reduced-size cultivation license, during renewal or when making the one-time change to their license expiration date.

Making changes outside of the renewal process

To take advantage of the new license change options outside of the renewal process, please follow these instructions.

  1. Login to your CLS account
  2. Navigate to the “My Licenses” page.
  3. Locate the license you want to change in the list and select the “Amendment” option under “Actions.”
  4. Select the “Cultivation License Change” option and then select the blue button “continue application.”
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.
  6. Upload required documentation, if applicable.
  7. Pay the license fee.
  8. Submit your “Cultivation License Change” request.

Making changes during your license renewal period

To take advantage of the new license change options during your license renewal period, please follow these instructions.

  1. Login to your CLS account
  2. Navigate to the “My Licenses” page.
  3. Locate the license you want to change in the list and select the “Renew” option under “Actions.”
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.
  5. Upload required documentation, if applicable.
  6. Pay the license fee.
  7. Submit your renewal request.

Background

On March 11, 2024, the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) adopted emergency regulations to implement Senate Bill 833.  Under the new regulations, cultivation licensees can make certain changes to their license including:  

  • Reducing the size of a cultivation license, 
  • Placing the cultivation license in Limited Operations Status, and 
  • Making a one-time change to the expiration date of a processor, nursery, or cultivation license.
